Welcoming the 2012-2013 with a NEW Classroom Theme- OWLS!!

I decided to change my classroom theme after having frogs for ONLY two years! I LOVE it!! My classroom is super colorful and was full of life even before my new little ones stepped in. Our first day of school they agreed with me and said they really like their new classrooms. Some of my former students also came in and said that I should have decorated the classroom this way last year. I hope to continue to add to the theme and I hope I don't change it any time soon.

Here are some pictures...

I made the BIENVENIDOS Pennant and you can find it by visiting my TPT Store . I added ribbon and just stapled each pennant to it. These super cute owls and the tree (it comes with small brown owls, a large owl and a few other items) are from Lakeshore.

I decided I would keep the lily pad number line, since I could not find anything cute for my new theme.

This is my back wall. I printed the LARGE Bienvenidos Pennant to display at the top. Our classroom birthday wall is on this wall too, between our computer center and the classroom library. My classroom library is always a work in progress, I was able to find only a few bins from the Dollar Tree :(.

This year I decided I was going to do the calendar both in Spanish and in English, I noticed that most students could not remember that days and months in Spanish must be all lower case letters! I hope this helps. I also made new colorful numbers for my calendar. I love them!

I made these Super cute numbers that will help me give all my students a chance to read or share with the rest of the class.

I have also used them, thanks to my friend Maritza, as bathroom passes. Students place their number under the boys or girls pass display on the wall to indicate that they have gone to use the restroom. I added magnets to the back of those circles.

Here's the picture...

Here's the top half of my door. The owls actually have students names. I made the door sign!

Mis Pequeños Ayudantes Chart is displayed to the right of the calendar. They are so cute and colorful. I have gotten several compliments. I hot glued each crayon to a wooden pin and plan to add a 1X1in. picture of each child to them.

Here's a picture of my chair. I sit in this chair when I read a story to my students. I added this pillow because my nine year old daughter thought it would go perfectly when she saw it at ROSS. Glad I listened to her it really does :)

My teacher wall (bulletin board). It still looks like this after a week of being in session. I haven't decided exactly what I want in the frames, I have two more to add. I also have a few inspirational graphics...

I took pictures of all the supplies students brought on the first day of school. This is after I filled up my boxes that are inside the cabinet and the cabinet shelves!
